How the Republicans and Tea Party Are Playing Obama

May 21, 2013 | By | No Comments

So, Republicans are asking their party to cool it with the attacks on Obama. That’s nice, but don’t be fooled, for while the GOP is pretending to be statesmanlike, the Tea Party is vowing revenge on the Democrats for the selective scrutiny that the IRS gave them during the elections.

It’s nothing but good cop, bad cop, and the Democrats are being played… again.

Why Ted Nugent Should Migrate to Mexico Illegally (Satire)

May 18, 2013 | By | No Comments

I feel sorry for Ted Nugent. All the poor man wants to do is protect your arsenal of machine guns and rocket launchers from the Communists and to make sure that all those highly desirable gardening and maid service jobs are not stolen by undocumented Mexicans sneaking over the border; and yet despite his patriotism, all we ever do is make fun of him.

Even his latest brainwave of temporarily enslaving undocumented immigrants and forcing them to build the Great Wall of America on the US-Mexico border in one year, has been met with derision by the media. I really cannot imagine why.

But precisely because of this shameful bias against a great rocker and all-American icon, I have come up with a way to help Ted get what he sorely deserves and to help our nation at the same time. After a lot of deep thought, I have come to the conclusion that he should migrate to Mexico illegally.

That will solve all his problems (and ours), in one shot.

What Texas Could Learn from Bangladesh

May 14, 2013 | By | No Comments

Texas and Bangladesh. Two places that are literally worlds apart. One is the second largest state in the United States of America, a center for the rich oil and high-tech industries with a GDP of $1.2 trillion, and known for its vast sprawl, fiercely proud culture, and larger-than-life personality. The other is a developing nation in South Asia, a center for low cost garment manufacturing with a GDP of $119 billion, and known more for its overpopulation, poverty and political corruption than for its culture.

But despite this wide dichotomy, the two places do have something in common — rapid economic growth. Texas is the fastest-growing economy in the United States and Bangladesh is considered by many to be an emerging world economy and part of the ‘Next Eleven.’

Those should be badges of honor except that the economic philosophy fueling that growth is one that allows the exploitation of workers and treats their safety as a secondary concern in the pursuit of profits. The recent fertilizer plant explosion in Texas, which killed 15 people, and the tragic collapse of the clothing factory in Bangladesh, which has claimed more than a thousand lives, may be accidents, but they were accidents that occurred due to poor regulatory oversight and lax safety standards exercised by the private sector.

The Letter from the NRA that you will Never See

May 14, 2013 | By | No Comments

The following piece may seem like comedy but it’s really political satire, which basically means it’s about serious issues that make Americans so uncomfortable that I need to dress them up in humor just to talk about them.

It also means that any similarities to anyone, living or comatose, are convenient but purely coincidental. The NRA in here is definitely not the National Rifle Association but an unrelated group called No Remorse At All (I guess you leave off the last ‘A’ for ‘Assh**e’).

How Republicans Are Exploiting Inequality to Force Americans Into Debt

May 11, 2013 | By | No Comments

Attacking the Republicans for their indifference to inequality is like shooting fish in a barrel. There is no shortage of examples showing how little the GOP cares about the working class or about fairness.

But even more disturbing than the indifference is the reason behind it.
